What is Dashi?

Dashi is the essential savory stock foundation of Japanese food. Made by simmering whole natural ingredients like Bonito, Kombu, and Shiitake, this clear golden soup adds deep Umami to any dish—from traditional Japanese soups to your favorite risottos.

Dashi forms the foundation of flavour in cooking. Based on umami, it allows you to experience “deliciousness” without increasing salt, sugar, or fat, contributing to your health.

Natural Ingredients

  • Bonito flakes

    Bonito flakes contain inosinate, an essential component of Japanese dashi. The bonito is simmered and then smoked.

  • Kelp

    Kelp contains glutamate, which gives dashi an elegant aroma and savoury taste. It is characterised by its gentle fragrance and rich umami.

  • Shiitake mushroom

    Dried shiitake mushrooms contain guanylate. When combined with kelp, they provide an even deeper umami flavour.

Ready in 3 Minutes

Simply boil 400ml of water, add one pack, and simmer for 3 minutes. It’s pre-seasoned, so the taste is perfect every time.
